We have the opportunity to show that we can help others. A boat on the Thames, near Penton Hook, has a stuck anchor.
The Environment Agency launch tried to assist and lost a grapple in the attempt. We have been asked, by the Agency, if we can help by releasing the anchor and recovering the grapple. On the clubs behalf I have accepted the challenge that we will do as a favour to the owners. We hope to recover the items on a dive on 15th August, diving at about 19:00. All those interested in diving should let Ian Kirby know and should try to attend a briefing at the club on 8th August. Those who would like to come along and give the divers support are welcome to attend on the Staines side of the Thames approximately 400 meters upstream of Penton Hook lock. (Near TW18 2HQ)
